
Luara’s scholarship means her dreams are now in reach despite the financial restrictions faced by her single parent family.
“My mother has always worked hard to provide for me but supporting my university studies would have been just far too much for her to accommodate as a single parent on a disability support pension.
“Receiving this helping hand has meant so much to both of us. I’m now able to afford the everyday necessities of life that come with studying and can focus all of my attention on becoming a professional jazz singer.
“There are many truly talented people who deserve to attend university but are held back because of the costs involved. These scholarships break the cycle of finances restricting opportunities and offer a sense of equality for all students regardless of backgrounds.”
