In all cases prerequisites and additional criteria must be satisfied. Information about prerequisites and specific criteria for each program can be found within the Griffith Program Catalogue website.

The entry rank required for Semester 1 transfers is the rank established for the program in the major round.

For Semester 2 transfers, the entry rank used is the rank set in the previous major round or for the mid-year offer round (whichever is lower).

Selection criteria for an International student

International students require a grade point average of 3.01 or above (over the period of their study) to transfer into most programs.

In all cases prerequisites must be satisfied. Prerequisite details can be found on the Apply for entry page for your program in the Program Catalogue.

You must also meet the English Language requirements, details can be found via the Program Catalogue.

There are additional entry requirements for the following study areas:

  • Queensland Conservatorium
  • Law
  • Physiotherapy
  • Pharmacy
  • Psychology
  • all Advanced and Advanced with Honours programs.

Application for internal transfer

To apply, you must complete the 'Application for Internal Transfer' form, you can obtain this form from any Student Centre or via the web at:

  • Application for internal transfer - ONLINE form

Outcome of the Application

Current Students will receive an email via their Student email address. If you have not enrolled for more than twelve months, you will be sent a letter in the mail to advise of the outcome, it is therefore important to include a current mailing address.

Successful outcome implications

Enrolment

If you are successful in your transfer, your previous program will be withdrawn.

If you have enrolled under your previous program, then the course enrolment and tutorials attached to that program will also be withdrawn.

If successful, the next step is to enrol in courses that are appropriate for the new program. Please refer to the Enrolment support website for assistance if needed.

Award of credit on transfer

You do not need to apply for credit when your transfer is approved. This will be done as part of the transfer process and you will be advised of the outcome. For further information on the credit process you can visit the Credit transfer and articulation website.

Change to fees

You should note that if your transfer is approved, it will more than likely result in a change to your fees. For Commonwealth Supported students this could be a change to your Fees Band. For International students there may be a change to the tuition fee applicable to the new program or the new semester of commencement. See the Tuition fees and charges website for more.

Unsuccessful outcome and options

If you are not successful in obtaining a place in the tertiary program that most interests you, there are a number of ways to increase your chances of gaining a place in the future. This process is often called 'upgrading' or 'pathways'.

The Additional pathways webpage will give you more information on the options available to increase your chances of gaining a place in the future.
