Applying for the GUESTS program
- Do I need to attend lectures and classes?
- Yes. GUESTS students attend lectures and tutorials and all class requirements associated with the course that you are applying for. You will experience university life on-campus.
- If I am considering applying for Medicine, can I receive the guaranteed entry?
- No. Unfortunately GUESTS students that successfully complete their courses are unable to apply for a 'Guaranteed Offer of Entry' into degree programs with specific entry requirements such as UMAT, interview or folio requirements.
Completed GUESTS and Guaranteed Offers of Entry
- I want to take a gap year - can I defer my GUESTS guaranteed offer?
- Yes. Guaranteed offers are the same as any offer made through QTAC/UAC - students can choose to accept, reject or defer their offer (there are a small number of programs where deferment is not available).
- I want to place another program higher in my preferences than my GUESTS guaranteed offer - will I receive both offers?
- No. Students can place their GUESTS guaranteed offer program anywhere within their QTAC/UAC preferences. However, students can only ever receive one final offer. Therefore, if an offer into a higher preference is made via QTAC/UAC, the GUESTS guaranteed offer will be forfeited.
- Will I receive my guaranteed offer if I do not meet the prerequisites?
- No. Although students will receive their guaranteed offer regardless of their OP/UAI, prerequisites must be met.
- Is my OP/UAI still important?
- Yes. GUESTS students may receive a guaranteed offer regardless of their OP/UAI. If after you receive your guaranteed offer you wish to change preferences, then your entry would fall back to your OP/UAI. If after you commence your degree program you decide to change programs, then your OP or UAI would be referred to for entry into an alternate degree program.
