I've met so many people and made so many new friends… College life so far, for me, has been terrific. I'm happier than I ever thought I would be. There are so many activities organised, so many new experiences, so many new people, so much work, so much fun." - Sanne Voogt

Located in Toohey Forest, the Colleges are surrounded by natural bushland and walking tracks. It’s a very scenic place to live, study and enjoy your time at Griffith.

There are a range of on-campus options to suit your needs, each offering benefits not available to students who live off- campus.

Convenience

Colleges provide the convenience of being close to your lectures, library, laboratories, and sport and recreation facilities. The Colleges are conveniently positioned on the Nathan and Mt Gravatt campuses – close to the Busway and city. South Bank campus is only 11 minutes away by bus!

The Colleges provide a safe and supportive environment in which to live and learn. College members have access to a wide range of support services coordinated by the college staff. Your room has telephone and data connections - offering free internal telephone calls to any of the University's six campuses and a network system available in the Colleges.

In addition to the many social and sporting activities held exclusively for College members, there are also gyms, and professional quality Tennis Centre (including a licensed café), clubs and on-campus activities such as Market Days.

College members are able to park on campus.

Academic support

The average mark (Grade Point Average) for students who live in a College is higher than for students who do not.

Access to the library, lecturers and tutors is a short walk away and there are other people on College who are doing the same course as one another.  I have many group study sessions with my fellow peers, which has greatly assisted my learning throughout the two years I've been staying on campus." - Peter Nicholls

Staying on college has been the best thing for transition to university life. I think I would have struggled if I had lived anywhere else. I believe staying on college gives me a huge advantage over other students. - Morgan Weston

Social and sporting events

Many social and sporting activities are based on-campus. By living in a College you’re right there where it all happens, including:

  • Parties
  • Barbecues
  • Awards Nights
  • College Ball
  • Trips to theme parks
  • Inter-college sporting comps

and much more. Check out the gallery.

You will find it very easy to meet and get to know other students. Friendships formed during your time in the Colleges will last a life time. The friends you make here will be close by to study with and socialise. With students from different countries living together you’ll meet a diverse group of people and find that you are being exposed to new cultures and ideas.
