The Australian Universities Quality Agency Audit Report of Griffith University (PDF 54k) was released in September 2008. Griffith received 11 commendations, in particular being praised for its Griffith 2015 strategy, its engagement with the broader community in Brisbane and the Gold Coast, and the development of the Gold Coast campus.
In all, Griffith received 11 commendations, 11 affirmations and 8 recommendations. Griffith University Vice Chancellor and President, Professor Ian O?Connor, welcomed the AUQA report that has acknowledged the hard work and significant achievements of the University.
The AUQA Panel focussed particularly on two themes: Supporting Student Success and International Activities and also commented on progress since the cycle 1 report completed in 2003.
As Griffith has a culture of innovation and responsiveness, review and improvement, the University community played an important role in the preparation for this audit. Under the leadership of the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) and senior project officer, Ms Karen van Haeringen, an AUQA audit Steering Committee (PDF 54k) was established to assist with preparations.
The 12 Month Progress Report (PDF 180kb) on implementation of recommendations was reported to AUQA in September 2009.
