Research centres located on campus include:

The Institute for Glycomics, led by Professor Mark von Itzstein, an Australia Prize winner for his efforts in developing the anti-influenza drug Relenza, researches the role of carbohydrates in various diseases like cancers, influenza and tuberculosis, with a view to developing new drugs. It is the only one of its kind in Australia and one of only six worldwide.

Facilities

State-of-the-art facilities include the Griffith Centre for Medicine and Oral Health, the new Clinical Science precinct and the multimedia digital precinct. The Griffith Centre for Medicine and Oral Health - home to the first School of Dentistry to be established in Australia in almost 60 years - opened its doors next to the Gold Coast hospital in 2005. The $36 million Centre is the latest addition to the campus' expanding health portfolio.

Accommodation

Griffith University Village is the new student accommodation village at Gold Coast campus. It has 517 fully furnished, ultra modern apartments set within the lush native Queensland bushland, cutting edge facilities, and exciting student life programmes running throughout the year.

The Village includes private rooms with ample study space, a resource centre with the latest computers and technology and most importantly, access to the Internet.
